On Saturday, April 12 a group of Bay Quarter Shores residents turned out to accomplish some tasks that, in the words of the old razor commercial, make the community look sharp and its residents feel sharp. Led by Board Members Mike Silagyi and Stan Johnson, the group worked hard for several hours and then enjoyed a delicious meal at the Clubhouse.
The front sign had recently been painted by Wally Redmond, so it was time to make the pillars look equally fresh. Working on the pillars were Frank Klein, Carson Klein, Mark Berry, Michael Goodrich-Stuart, Gary Morris, Bud Stotz, Calvin Roberts, Mike Silagyi, Bill Sanford, and Stan Johnson.
A two-man team of Jim Ince and Fraser Getgood prepared and painted the wooden fences that mark the entrance to the two community-owned water-access lots located on Bay Quarter Drive and Coral Drive. At the Coral Drive location, John Collier and Mark Berry made repairs and then applied sealer to the canoe dock on Presley Creek.

Roger Allers took on the job of painting the small fence and sign at the road entrance to the Clubhouse area and Evelyn Lee worked on the bulb-bed in front of the Clubhouse. Stan Wyborsky walked the Nature Trails. He did some clearing and kept a log of work needed to keep these trails functional.
Curtis Black and Charles Stewart inspected and marked clogged road culverts on the main roads. The results of their findings will be reported to VDOT for clearing and repair. Jennifer Troy-Black made the roads look beautiful by collecting debris. These combined efforts keep the roads both beautiful and in good condition.
Meanwhile, back at the clubhouse several volunteers were giving the windows a good spring cleaning and also preparing a delicious spaghetti and salad lunch. Among this group were Jean Ince, Dora Wybersky, Roz Johnson, Mary Langley, Sybil Diely and Bonnie Kaminicky.
